about me

I am Eric Benge, a designer based in Indianapolis with almost two decades of experience helping organizations communicate more clearly through brand identity and visual systems. My work spans nonprofits, small businesses, and corporate teams, often helping refine how a brand presents itself and grows over time.
design works best as a system
A brand is more than a logo or a collection of colors. It is a system of visual and verbal cues that helps an organization communicate clearly and consistently over time. When that system is thoughtfully built, it becomes easier for teams to create new materials, maintain consistency, and present themselves with confidence.
My approach to branding focuses on clarity, structure, and longevity. I aim to create identities that can adapt to different contexts without losing their core character. That might mean designing a logo that works across dozens of formats, establishing visual guidelines that help teams stay consistent, or developing a flexible foundation that allows a brand to grow.
The goal is always the same. Design that is thoughtful, practical, and built to hold up in the real world.
the work i enjoy most
Many of the projects I take on involve building or refining brand identity systems. These are the kinds of projects where design can make a lasting difference. A thoughtful identity creates a foundation that supports marketing, communication, and growth over time.
Some clients come to me at the beginning of that process. Others already have a brand in place and need experienced support to help apply it consistently across new materials and initiatives. In both cases, the goal is the same. Clear, thoughtful design that helps organizations present themselves with confidence.
